Director Jérémie Saindon tries his hand at another We Are Wolves video. And judging from this pic, we are sure it’s going to be yet another hit for himself and the Montreal-based band. The image speaks for itself. The atmosphere is steeped in paganism and old fertility rituals. Jérémie called on child actors to portray young forest guardians.

The storyline also called for adult nudity and this is why the video may quickly gain cult status. But it’s clear this video will be seen for many other reasons, including the special effects which are entrusted to Montreal’s own Rodeo FX.  The launch of “Coconut Night” is due in December. We’ll be sure to tell you where and when it can be seen. So stay tuned.

Sébastien Paccioni is profiled in Infopresse as the young professional to watch. We have written about him before in connection with exo7, the design company he co-founded and co-owns with Maya Rioux, a talented artistic director in her own right.

Sébastien, and exo7, are also using the right combination of talent and strategies to market films online. This step involves getting in on the ground floor; and that means the script. It’s figuring out the nuts and bolts of the plot, the overall subject matter, and the characters all in the aim of developing the brand. Then comes the next important part, “tailoring the media strategy to suit the particular audience for that film.” And successful branding is what Sébastien is all about.

Woolf + Lapin is proud to be associated with what promises to be quite a show at Usine C, starting this week. Naomi Stikeman has been hard at work on bringing two distinct and very strong art forms under one sole guise: film doubled by live choreographed dance. The link between the two is abstract and imaginative. The gaze of the viewer is free to establish the links in between.

Collaborators are many and impressive: Crystal Pite, Arcade Fire, Alexander MacSween, Matthew Banks, Frédérike Bédard, Janine Sutto and Robert Lepage.  And of course Richard Hansen the creator behind the eight wigs she will be using for the show.  “Each wig,” says Naomi, “is emblematic of each of the eight scenes that make up the choreography. The fit, shape and length influenced the posture and movement of the body. Crystal Pite loved the idea of working with these ideas.”

“The symbol of Saturn has to do with death, mourning, winter, but it is also the harbinger of a new spring. That’s what’s really behind the title. A reminder of the cycles of life.”
