Gerard is a screenwriter and story editor in both animation and live action and was the 2001 recipient of Canada’s Gemini Award for Best Writing for Youth Television Programming. He has also worked extensively as a development writer, developing a few dozen television shows for a variety of different companies. He has written for most of the major networks including Fox, PBS, CBC, SRC, Teletoon, Cartoon Network, Family Channel, YTV and Treehouse, in both live action and animation, on shows as varied as action adventure Ripley’s Believe It Or Not, multiple Emmy winning PBS’s Arthur, Nickelodeon’s live action kid horror Are You Afraid of the Dark?, and HBO’s Little Lulu. On the side, Gerard continues to write poetry and fiction and is presently at work on a feature film script.
